BIOGRAPHY

Versatile. Engaging. Passionate.

Kevin McMann, a Philadelphia native, is currently living in New Orleans, La. He has been seen performing with such artists as The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Acadiana Symphony, the Hot Club of Baton Rouge, Gregg Wright, J & The Causeways, Wycliffe Gordon, Charlie Sepulveda and more. He has performed throughout the country and internationally.

A versatile musician, Kevin has studied both classical and jazz/popular music earning a M.M. in Jazz Studies from Louisiana State University where he was the Jazz Area Graduate Assistant. He also holds dual baccalaureate degrees from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in Music Education and Jazz Performance.

He has wide experience performing in all varieties of ensembles, from nationally touring rock and pop acts to free improvisation collectives. He is also a talented and passionate educator, working with students ranging from full ensembles and classrooms to private students.

In addition to saxophone, Kevin is also a woodwind instrumentalist who enjoys the challenge of playing in pit orchestras, and has performed for musical productions such as; The National Tour of Chicago: The Musical, The Wizard of Oz, A Little Princess, Hairspray, The Music Man, Seussical the Musical, Jekyll and Hyde, Anything Goes, Leader of the Pack and more

 

Kevin holds dual Bachelor of Music Degrees in Music Education and Jazz Performance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania ('11) and a Master of Music Degree in Jazz Studies from Louisiana State University ('15).
